AURA INSIDE

Première Vision Exhibition : Clara Daguin - REVEAL THE INVISIBLE

At the September 2018 edition of Première Vision Paris, the "Reveal the Invisible" exhibition served as the centerpiece for the trade show’s Wearable Lab, showcasing Clara Daguin’s pioneering fusion of craftsmanship and electronics. The installation explored the intersection of electronics and fashion by featuring garments from previous collections as well as a new creation, designed specifically for the show titled AURA INSIDE.

The exhibition’s "inside the artist studio" format functioned as a high-tech "Cabinet of Curiosities," showcasing the complexity of techno-couture by blending the traditional atelier with a modern laboratory. Visitors encountered a deliberate juxtaposition where ancestral textile tools like embroidery hoops and silk spools sat alongside soldering irons, circuit boards, and wire strippers, framing the act of sewing as a form of hardware engineering.

Aura Inside is a hybrid piece, a cross between a garment and an interactive art installation. It brings vivacity to the experience of wearing couture, and a means of embodying effervescence. The name “Aura Inside” invokes the emanation of our invisible energies, and references the way the piece is presented: with the front and back split open, allowing one access into the core of it.

The silhouette is cosmic, entirely hand-embroidered and luminous. The motifs are inspired by the idea of the infinite; constellations, what is intangible and esoteric. Equipped with temperature sensors, this interactive dress uses the body's heat to have one's Aura come to life.
