CHANEL - Atelier des Matières

In her collaboration with Chanel’s Atelier des Matières, Clara Daguin brought together innovation and circular design by creating the trophies for a dedicated hackathon using deadstock leather and unused leather goods transformed into a new, refined material. This new leather was then cut and assembled into a colorful marquetry. For the first-place trophies, this reclaimed leather was paired with laser-engraved, upcycled plexiglas, into which she integrated a custom electronic circuit that allowed the pieces to softly illuminate. The result was a synthesis of craftsmanship and technology—where discarded materials were not only revived, but elevated into luminous symbols of creativity, embodying both the ethos of sustainability and the forward-looking spirit of the event.
