PARIS OLYMPICS

Outfits for opening ceremony

Commissioned in January for the Opening Ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, this project was developed in collaboration with artistic director Thomas Jolly and Daphné Bürki, head of styling and costumes. Clara Daguin designed and integrated the LED systems for the custom Dior outfits worn by Juliette Armanet and Sofiane Pamart.

For Juliette Armanet, the look consisted of a cropped top and fitted flared pants. The Dior atelier created the detailed embroidery along the seams and armholes, while the embedded LEDs were programmed to shift from bottom to top, enhancing the movement of the silhouette. The varnished coated‑canvas ensemble was further embellished with faceted pearls that illuminated in sync with the music.

For Sofiane Pamart, the LED design produced a dynamic, rotating light effect that wrapped around the body, amplifying his presence on stage. Together, these pieces highlight the meeting point of couture craftsmanship, performance, and technological innovation.
